Nationalpark Bayerischer Wald
The Bavarian Forest National Park is the first and largest in Germany, and the only one with real primeval forests.
The idea of a national park originated in North America, where Yellowstone National Park was founded in 1872. Almost a hundred years later, the Bavarian Forest National Park was opened in 1970 as the first national park in Germany.
